📌 Definition Simple, Complex ও Compound এর সংজ্ঞা

🔹 Simple Sentence (সরল বাক্য)

একটি মাত্র Finite Verb থাকে। একটি মাত্র Subject ও একটি মাত্র Predicate থাকে।

উদাহরণ: He worked hard to succeed. / The boy is too weak to walk.

🔸 Complex Sentence (জটিল বাক্য)

একটি Main Clause এবং এক বা একাধিক Subordinate Clause থাকে। Subordinating conjunction (because, though, if, when, since, that, etc.) ব্যবহার হয়।

উদাহরণ: Because he worked hard, he succeeded. / Though he is poor, he is honest.

🔹 Compound Sentence (যৌগিক বাক্য)

দুটি বা ততোধিক Independent Clause সমন্বিত। Coordinating conjunction (and, but, or, so, for, yet) ব্যবহার হয়।

উদাহরণ: He worked hard and succeeded. / He is poor but honest.

Simple: Because of + noun / phrase → Complex: Because / Since + clause → Compound: So / Therefore + clause
  • Simple: Because of his illness, he was absent.

  • Compound: He was ill, so he was absent.
  • Simple: Due to bad weather, the match was cancelled.

Simple: In spite of / Despite + noun → Complex: Though / Although + clause → Compound: But / Yet

Simple: To / In order to + verb → Complex: So that / In order that + clause → Compound: So / Therefore

Simple: Present Participle (V+ing) / After + noun → Complex: When / As / While + clause → Compound: And + clause
  • Simple: Seeing the police, the thief ran away.
  • Complex: When he saw the police, the thief ran away.
  • Compound: The thief saw the police and ran away.
  • Simple: Finishing his homework, he went to bed.

Simple: By + V+ing / Without + noun → Complex: If / Unless + clause → Compound: And / Or
